High Speed Spinning Textile Tubes and Cores Require MCT Camera Equipment and Experience.
The Challenge:
Textile tubes and cores spin at extremely high rates approaching 10,000 rpm. A fine thread or piece of yarn is captured by a slot in the winding machine or in the cardboard tube which begins the spooling process. There are often misses, or partial misses, that immediately cause winding issues and can lead to down time on the factory floor. Only a high speed camera could slow down the process enough for a person to analyze the issues surrounding the yarn capture.
Product Needed:
The Photron AX200 camera allowed us to capture eye opening video at 20,000 frames per second.
Why MCT:
The Southeastern US is a hotbed for Textile operations and MCT is headquartered in NC. Through 25 years of experience, we have seen many textile applications and learned different ways to tackle each. Sometimes it is a dirty job, but good results are always obtained. In this case, MCT identified the right combination of camera, lighting, lens, and mounting device to reveal how different slits in the cardboard or machinery were more effective than others. We continue to see repeat business for our customers accross the textile industry.
